Tweet 「SPA!」2010年 掲載 『 キンドルの衝撃 』 （石川幸憲 著　毎日新聞社） 　キンドルとはアメリカのアマゾンによる電子ブックリーダーだ。画面は見やすく疲れない。バッテリーもかなり長持ちする。通信費はコンテンツ費に含まれており、ユーザーは通信費を気にすることなく使える。このような利便性から、ずっと期待だけ高かった電子書籍市場を、ついに押し開いたデバイスだ。いっぽう新聞雑誌はネットメディアに押され、会社を維持することさえもいっぱいいっぱいになりつつある。 　 『 キンドルの衝撃 』 はそんな米国メディアの状況を概観した本だ。タイトルから連想するほど電子書籍関連の話題は多くない。むしろ米国新聞社が生き残りを模索して、様々な形で足掻いている姿が描かれている。 　著者は今後の状況については、電子書籍端末がヒットするとしても紙からペーパーレスへの推移は緩やかで、共存時代がしばらく続くだろうと分析している。そして電子書籍端末のヒットは新聞や雑誌にとっての新しいビジネスチャンスとなるだろうと述べている。大方の出版人は希望も込めて、この意見に同意するのではないだろうか。 　現在は端末 ...
