先日、愛媛に帰省して松山と宇和島をぶらぶら歩いたときに、なんとなく、街中に「100円ショップ」が少ないなと思った。
もちろん、「ない」わけではない。あるにはある。だが、東京都内ほどはない、という意味だ。そりゃ人口密度が違うのだから当然といえば当然だが、少なくとも松山は県庁所在地であり、それなりの大きさの都市である。
また、街を歩くときには、「このくらいの街の商圏規模なら、このくらいの店があるだろうな」という漠然とした感覚がある。地方都市では平均所得も少ないだろうから１００円ショップが入り込む余地は大いにありそうなものだが、それでも少ない。最近の東京都内に１００円ショップが増えすぎているせいもあるのだろうが、街を歩いていて何となく不思議だなと思った。
もっとも後でGoogleマップ上で見てみると、意外とあるようにも見える。馴れていないこちらの目に、店の看板が入ってなかっただけかもしれない。あるいは、ちょっとお店が ...
