東京新聞「BOOKナビ」の科学書担当になりました

Tweet 本日４月２４日付けの 東京新聞 の書評エッセイ「BOOKナビ」に書評が掲載されています。
「BOOKナビ」は複数著者の持ち回りのコーナーで、私は科学書の担当です。
掲載間隔は一ヶ月強に一回程度で、毎回、２−３冊の新刊を紹介せよとのこと。
「BOOKナビ」では選書もこちらにやらせてもらっています。
新聞ですので、より幅広い一般読者向けに、少しでも本当に面白い本を紹介したいと思っています。
今回取りあげさせて頂いた本は以下の２冊。

Tweet ▼台風のようなすごい雨が降ったかと思えば晴れ間が見え、そうかと思えばまた雨が降ったりと変な天気。
▼夕方には一部地域で虹が見えたようなのだが、僕は見る事ができなかった。残念。
▼大震災関連の緊急出版本が続々と刊行され始めた。各新聞社は、まずは写真記録本から。

壁を見ると、第１原発敷地内の放射線量に関する最新情報が。「落下ガレキ 雰囲気２０ 表面４０」「ゾウ周辺 ２０〜３０」。単位はいずれもミリシーベルト。原子炉建屋の周辺、取水口付近…いずれも高い線量だ。
それにしても「ゾウ」とは…。「以前はキリンだったけど、今じゃゾウ、シマウマもあるよ」と、近くの作業員。原子炉建屋に放水する生コン圧送機を、大きさや形に合わせてそう呼んでいるらしい。
