『 小林・益川理論の証明 』 は、立花隆が2000年頃に「サイアス」という科学雑誌で連載していた記事をまとめ、前に解説、後ろに座談会記録を付した本である。
まずは小林誠、益川敏英両氏のノーベル賞受賞報道に対する「程度が低い」という怒りから始まる前書きでは、本の成立経緯と、ＣＰ対称性の破れを記述した小林・益川理論の意義が大ざっぱに、だがかなり長めに解説されている。
第２部は連載記事を再録した部分だが、この連載は「サイアス」休刊に伴って中途半端な形で終わった。しかも最後２回の内容のうちかなりの部分は休刊に対する怒りで占められている。第３部の座談会では高エネ研の理論系・実験系の先生たちが、両氏のノーベル賞受賞が決まったときの喜びやその後の展開、さらなる期待を語っている。
