▼産経 宝永地震はM9!? 静岡大教授が発表
東海・東南海・南海地震の震源地になるとされる南海トラフ(海溝帯)で江戸時代に起こった「宝永地震」(1707年)はマグニチュード(M)9クラスだった可能性が静岡大学防災総合センターの石川有三客員教授の研究で判明し、12日、静岡市で始まった日本地震学会で発表された。宝永地震はこれまで、M8・6で西日本最大の地震とされてきただけに、今回の研究成果は東海・東南海・南海地震対策に影響を与えそうだ。
石川客員教授は「東日本大震災の発生により、M9地震の震度分布や、その後の余震の震度分布が明らかになったことから、宝永地震との比較が可能になった」としている。
