現在、フロリダでSony Ericcson Open2012が行われています。今朝の午前0時から錦織選手ｖｓナダル選手の好カードが始まり、善戦空しく6：4、6：4で惜敗しました。第一セットの第一ゲームでナダルのサービスゲームを15：40と追い詰めながら、これを取れなかったのが敗因かもしれません。まだメンタルや試合のマネージメントを強化しなくては勝てません。08年に1セットをナダル選手から奪取しており、今回は期待していたのですが技術やパワーではナダル選手を押しながら、最後の最後でひっくり返されえてしまいました。

こんにちは。水曜日を担当する日経バイオテク編集長の橋本宗明です。 　先週金曜日、東大で開催された東大病院臨床試験セミナーを取材してきました。下の2本の記事をまとめたのでお読みいただきたいですが、臨床試験の実施体制の整備も進み、そのシーズの研究も着実に進展しつつあるようです。東大病院は07年度から2011年度までの5カ年で進められた文部科学省の橋渡し研究支援推進プログラムに採択されていますが、加えて2011年度に始まった1カ所につき年間6億円が5年間助成される早期・探索的臨床試験拠点に採択されたのが大きかったようです。

東海大学医学部の佐藤正人准教授らは、温度応答培養皿を用いた細胞シートを移植する軟骨の臨床研究を2011年末に開始し、これまでに40代の2人の患者に治療を実施した。特に問題は生じていないという。先端医療開発特区（スーパー特区）「細胞シートによる再生医療実現プロジェクト」が2012年3月27日に開催したシンポジウムで発表した。
