武田薬品工業は2012年5月11日、2012年3月期の決算およびローリング方式での12-14年度中期経営計画の説明会を開催した。通期の業績は、スイスNycomed社の決算が半期で寄与し、増収2桁の減益となった。新製品は、国内では2型糖尿病治療薬の「ソニアス配合錠」「リオベル配合錠」に加え、米国3製品、欧州で1製品となった。

日本エピジェネティクス研究会は、若手研究者のモチベーションを高めるために奨励賞を創設した。2012年5月14日から15日に都内で開催された第6回年会で、長浜バイオ大学アニマルバイオサイエンス学科の中村肇伸講師と、熊本大学発生医学研究所細胞医学分野の日野信次朗助教が受賞した。
