バイオマーカーサイエンス（京都市左京区、内田景博代表）は、動脈硬化の発症リスクを分析する新しい検査法「LOX-index」を国立循環器病研究センターと共同で開発し、2012年6月22日から受託事業を始めた。LOX-1と結合する酸化（変性）LDLを包括的に補足し、血中の酸化（変性）LDL濃度を測定する新たな検査法を確立した。LOX-1は、主に血管内皮細胞に発現し、酸化LDLと結合するレクチン様酸化LDL受容体。従来は酸化LDLだけをモノクローナル抗体を用いたELISA法での測定がほとんどだった。この成果は、6月23日に横浜市で開かれた第12回日本抗加齢医学会総会のイブニングセミナー（座長：京都府立医科大学の吉川敏一学長）で、国立循環器病研究センター研究所血管生理学部の沢村達也部長が「十年後の脳梗塞を予測する〜新規バイオマーカー「LOX-index」と題して講演した。バイオマーカーサイエンスは学会期間中、企業ブースに出展した。
