日経バイオテク12月7日号「編集長の目」、望まれるのは安定した政権の誕生

本誌が読者の手元に届く頃には、2012年12月16日に投票が行われた衆議院議員総選挙の結果が明らかになっているだろう。ただし、今回の選挙は多数の政党が乱立しており、選挙戦の結果次第では、連立合意など政権の枠組みが決まるまでに時間がかかる可能性がある。それでなくても2013年度の予算編成が越年となるのは必至とみられており、バイオ関連施策が固まるのは少し先になりそうだ。いずれにしても、安定した政権が誕生し、一貫性のある施策が打ち出されることが望まれるところだ。

科学技術振興機構（JST）は2012年12月17日、iPSをテーマとしたメディア懇談会を都内で開催した。JSTの中村道治理事長が、スウェーデンで行われた山中伸弥・京都大学教授のノーベル生理学・医学賞の受賞式の様子などを紹介したのに続き、iPS関連CRESTのアカデミア研究者4人が話題提供を行った。iPS関連CRESTは23のチームで構成されているという。

「皇潤」のエバーライフ、韓国のヘルスケア最大手が買収

“飲むヒアルロン酸”「皇潤」を商品化している九州の有力健康食品企業であるエバーライフ（福岡市、浅井克仁社長）は2012年12月17日、韓国のヘルスケア最大手のHousehold ＆ Health Care社（LG H＆H、ソウル市）が、エバーライフの発行済株式100％を譲り受けてエバーライフと資本業務提携することに合意したと発表した。取得総額は3300億ウォン（約258億円）と韓国メディアで報道された。
