大塚製薬は2012年12月25日、「ニュープロパッチ」（一般名：ロチゴチン）の国内での製造販売承認を取得したと発表した。適応症は「パーキンソン病および中等度から高度の特発性レストレスレッグス症候群」で、2つの効能・効果を同時に取得したことになった。

下は横浜市立金沢動物園のヒロキという名前のウォンバット。
なぜか食べてる途中で一時停止します。
このヒロキくんは人気者のようで、Youtubeにも多数動画があります。
ちなみにウォンバットはコアラの仲間です。

東京電力は２５日、福島第一原発の汚染水から放射性物質を取り除く「多核種除去装置」から出る廃棄物を保管する容器の強度が足りないことを、政府と東電の廃炉に関する中長期対策会議で明らかにした。補強して確認するのに時間がかかり、装置の稼働のめどがたたない。

２０１４年１２月に打ち上げ、有機物が豊富とみられる小惑星「１９９９ＪＵ３」で石などを採取し、２０年末に地球へ持ち帰る計画。先代「はやぶさ」の相次ぐ故障を教訓に、エンジンを増強している。開発費は打ち上げを含め約３１４億円だが、今年度予算は要求額の半分以下に減額され、計画の遅れが懸念されている。

Verdezyne社、DuPont社にキシロースイソメラーゼ特許技術を売却

米Verdezyne社は2012年12月17日、五炭糖類の代謝を可能にする自社独自のキシロースイソメラーゼ技術を米DuPont社のIndustrial Biosciences部門に売却したと発表した。この特許取得済技術は、バイオマス由来糖類の燃料や化学品への変換を可能にするものという。
