藻類を原料としたバイオ燃料の実用化に備えて欧州企業が供給元の確保に走っている。コスト面から藻類バイオ燃料の本格的な実用化はもう少し先の話だが、バイオ燃料の普及促進を目指した欧州連合（EU）の政策を背景に、藻類を含めさまざまな原料のバイオ燃料を確保する狙いがある。

2013年5月31日から5日間開催された米臨床腫瘍学会（ASCO）年次集会では、nivolumabやlambrolizu-mabなど免疫機構を利用した抗がん剤の発表に注目が集まった。一方で、これらの製品が承認された後の薬価についても業界では既に話題になっている。比較的薬価の高い米国での年間薬価は11万ドル、その他の国でも8万ドル程度と予測されている。

2013年6月26日に上場し高い水準での取引が続いているリプロセルだが、上場時の筆頭株主はSBIホールディングスだった。上場から7月4日までの終値を元に算出すると、SBIホールディングスが手にする利益が200億円を超える可能性がある。
