bioMerieux社、疾患診断用マルチプレックスPCR「FilmArray」システムを持つBioFire社を買収  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-9-6 9:00)

フランスbioMerieux社は2013年9月3日、米BioFire Diagnostics社を買収することで合意したと発表した。BioFire社は感染症の診断に用いるシンプルで迅速な分子生物学的ソリューションであるマルチプレックスPCR「FilmArray」システムを開発、製造、市販している。同社の買収により、bioMerieux社は戦略的なコア領域である感染症診断分野におけるメジャープレーヤーとしての地位を強固にしたいとしている。

PRANA社、PBT434研究にパーキンソン病協会から15万ポンド獲得  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-9-6 9:00)

豪PRANA Biotechnology社は、2013年9月4日、英Leeds大学が英パーキンソン病協会（Parkinson’s UK）から15万ポンドの研究資金を得たと発表した。資金は同社のPBT434の作用機序の研究に用いられる。

Transgene社、がん免疫療法製剤Pexa-VecのII相試験で主要な評価指標達成せずと発表  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-9-6 9:00)

フランスTransgene社は2013年9月3日、抗がん剤候補Pexa-Vec のフェーズIIb臨床試験で、主要な評価指標（全生存率）が達成できなかったと発表した。同臨床試験はTRAVERSEと呼ばれ、後期の肝臓がん患者を対象とし、Pexa-Vecと緩和ケア(BSC)の組み合わせ療法を緩和ケア(BSC)だけの療法と比較したもの。それによると、Pexa-Vecは、事前に設定した分析のためのイベント数に到達した。Pexa-Vecは、概して、良好な忍容性を示し、副作用の発症は、後期の肝細胞がん（HCC）患者を対象としたPexa-Vecのこれまでの臨床試験とほぼ同様であった。同社はさらに詳細なデータ分析を行う。

東北大の宮澤教授らと青葉化成、ゼラチンとトランスグルタミナーゼで徐放性粉末魚油  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-9-6 8:48)

東北大学大学院農学研究科の宮澤陽夫教授らは、ゼラチンとトランスグルタミナーゼを用いて、魚油を6割含む徐放性粉末魚油を製造する技術を開発した。2013年9月3日から5日に仙台市で開かれた日本油化学会第52回年会で、食品加工用資材の総合商社である青葉化成（仙台市、石田一社長）と連名で発表した。トランスグルタミナーゼは味の素、魚油はマルハニチロ食品が提供している。「粉末油脂の世界市場は年率4％から5％ほど増加しており年300億円の成長市場。油脂市場の中で伸びが突出している。世界展開していきたい」と宮澤教授は語った。
