味の素は、健康寿命の延伸に貢献する「アクティブシニア・プロジェクト」を発足したと、2013年10月18日に発表した。グローバル健康貢献企業グループを志向した新たな挑戦で、社内の組織横断的なプロジェクトを立ち上げた。第1弾の取り組みとして、ロコモティブシンドローム（略称：ロコモ、和名：運動器症候群）の予防に着目し、アミノ酸が拓く健康社会の実現を目指す。
