ドイツBASF社は2013年10月17日、ヨーロッパの植物バイオテクノロジー研究の主要なセンターであるベルギーGhent地域に新施設を開設したと発表した。BASF社の子会社である米BASF Plant Science社の一部門であるベルギーCropDesign社が、Ghent市のTechnologiepark内にあるBio-Acceleratorビル新館への移動を完了した。施設は総面積が4000平方メートルあり、研究室とオフィス、および屋上には最先端技術の温室が完備されている。
