今日は、東京大学本郷キャンパスの伊藤謝恩ホールで開催の日本食品免疫学会 （JAFI）第9回学術大会を、昨日に続き取材しました。 　「食べ物と免疫、食べ物と健康、は21世紀後半には最も重要な分野になる」と 学会の会長を務めている東京大学名誉教授の上野川修一さんは、大会の最後にお 話しでした。 　最後のプログラムであるシンポジウム3「食と免疫・健康−赤ちゃんからお年寄 りまで−」は、文京区が後援する公開シンポジウムでした。

イランPasteur Institute of Iran、HNP-1ペプチドの抗リーシュマニア効果を発見  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-10-18 17:00)

イランのPasteur Institute of Iranの博士課程の学生であるSara Dabirian氏は、免疫応答を刺激する作用があり、しかも副作用が限られている分子を使って、リーシュマニア症の治療薬候補を探索している。このほどヒト好中球ペプチド-1（HNP-1）に有望な作用があることが明らかになった。HNP-1は最も強力なデフェンシンの１つであり、幅広い抗菌作用を持つ。このペプチドは、ヒト好中球中に自然に存在するが、ヒト好中球はリーシュマニア原虫から宿主を守る中心的な役割を果たす細胞だ。
