OncoMed社とCelgene社、がん幹細胞を標的とする治療薬の開発と商品化めざし提携  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-12-5 9:00)

米OncoMed Pharmaceuticals社と米Celgene社は、2013年12月3日、OncoMed社が保有するがん幹細胞を標的とする生物製剤候補のうち、最大6剤までの開発と商品化に共同で取り組むための契約を結んだと発表した。

米Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centerの研究者は2013年12月4日、液滴デジタルPCR (ddPCR) を使って、がん患者の生存率を向上させることで知られている腫瘍浸潤性T細胞（TIL）と呼ばれるT細胞の部分母集団量を初めて計測することに成功した。同研究グループは、Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research CenterのPublic Health Sciences部門のAssociate Memberを務めるJason Bielas博士が率いた。同研究は、免疫療法におけるTIL 計量の役割およびがんの生存率を予想するTILの役割の研究にも道を切り開いた。研究成果はScience Translational Medicine誌に掲載された。

台湾JHL Biotech社、研究センターに、GE製のバイオ医薬プラントを設置  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-12-5 9:00)

米GE Healthcare life Sciences社と台湾のJHL Biotech社は2013年12月2日、台湾の新竹にあるJHL Biotech社の研究センターに、GE Healthcare life Sciences社製のFlexFactory生物製造プラットフォームの設置が完了したと発表した。この新規の製造プラットフォームはcGMP準拠であり、2013年末までに完全操業予定だ。中国武漢市 のBiolake Science Park のJHL Biotech社の施設ではGE Healthcare社が現在、モジュール式のバイオ医薬品製造工場KUBioを建設中である。

調達資金130億円。ナノキャリアが2012年から2013年10月までに株式市場から調達した資金の合計金額だ。転換社債、新株予約権、公募増資、第三者割当と、あらゆる調達手段を駆使した。同社は08年3月に東証マザーズに上場したが、当時のバイオ株は不人気で、IPO（新規上場）時の調達額はわずか6億円。しかし、今日の状況は全く異なる。バイオ株の人気は高く、バイオベンチャーの資金調達には絶好のタイミングだ。同社はこうした好環境を生かし、資金調達に成功した代表といえよう。
