Tweet ▼雨のなか和光の理研へ。入り口の守衛の態度が悪過ぎで呆れた。警備を厳しくするのと態度が悪いのは別だろうに。
▼ 理研BSI の記者懇談会。津本忠治 副センター長、宮脇敦史 副センター長、そして利根川進 センター長による講演。基本的に「 革新的技術による脳機能ネットワークの全容解明プロジェクト 」の予算が欲しいから宣伝してくれよという感じだった。あとは「日本版NIH構想はダメ」「基礎研究なくして応用なし」「日本独自のニューロサイエンスなど存在しない」とか。神経回路遺伝学研究棟の施設見学も少し。

▼宅配便で起床する。天気がよかったので唐突に思い立って、長瀞に行ってきた。紅葉はまだまだだったけど、岩畳やらSLやら堪能してきた。川下りは上から見ているとけっこうギリギリなところを通る船頭さんもいた。
▼SLはたまたま。平日なのに走っていたのは、おそらく「埼玉県民の日」だったからなのだろう。

米General Electric（GE）社傘下の米GE Aviation社は2013年11月6日、ジェットエンジン試験センターで使用する燃料ソースの拡大を2016年から開始するため、新たにセルロース由来燃料を購入すると発表した。このエンジン試験センターでは毎年1000万ガロンを超えるジェット燃料を消費している。
