今週は火曜日から今日金曜日まで4日間、神戸市で開催の第36回日本分子生物学
会を取材しまして、18時前に、最後のプログラムである市民公開講座「日本分子生
物学会公開プレゼンテーション」が終わりました。
この公開プレゼンでは6人がTEDを志向したプレゼンを行いまして、このうち、食
品と関係が深いのは2題。名古屋大学生物機能開発利用センター教授の芦苅基行さ
んが「イネの分子育種 科学で食糧を増産できるか」、東京海洋大学教授の吉崎悟
朗さんが「未来の養殖 サバからマグロは生まれるか」のプレゼンを行いました。

Tweet ▼火曜日の夜は久しぶりに渋谷に行って、飲み会に出た。１５年ぶりくらいの人たちに会う。
▼会社に残っていた人たちはだいたい予想通りのコースを辿っており、みんな立場的には１５年分「偉く」なっている。年収もおそらく僕の数倍はあるだろう。だがみんな、そして自分も、案外変わってないなあと思った。いっぽうで、あの頃ああだったこうだったという他愛ない話をし、自分自身もそういえばそんなことあったなと思いだしながらも「あの頃はのどかだったな」という話をするみんなを見ながら、変わってない空間がここにあるなあと漠然と思いながら外から見ているような自分もいた。１５年ぶりなので僕は基本的には部外者なのだが、周囲のおかげか居心地の悪さもまったく感じず、なんだか不思議な感覚を味わいながら時間が過ぎた。僕は行ったことがないので知らないのだが、同窓会というのはこんな感じなのかもしれないなと思った。某さんと握手をして別れた。

今週は火曜日（12月3日）から今日金曜日（12月6日）まで神戸市で開催の第36回日本分子生物学会年会を取材しております。年会長を大阪大学教授の近藤滋さん、組織委員長を東京大学教授の武田洋幸さん、プログラム委員長を東京大学教授の門脇孝さんがお務めの第36回年会は、プログラムの充実ぶりが特に目立っているように感じております。事前登録者数は5000人に当日参加を加え、8000人程度の参加者数が見込まれるとのことです。
