Tweet ▼AFP　 触感と形を伝える「バイオニック・ハンド」、欧州チームが開発 研究を行ったのは、 スイス連邦工科大学ローザンヌ校（Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne、EPFL） とイタリア・ピサ（Pisa）にあるバイオロボティクス・イスティトゥート（BioRobotics Institute）の研究者ら。研究結果は、米医学誌サイエンス・トランスレーショナル・メディシン（Science Translational Medicine）に掲載される。 この機械義手を装着したのは、およそ9年前に花火の事故で左手を失ったデンマーク出身のデニス・アーボ・サーアンソン（Dennis Aabo Sorenson）さん（36）。「物を手に取ってみると、硬いか柔らかいか、丸いか四角いか分かります」と感想を述べている。 サーアンソンさんが装着した義手の指先には、高性能センサーが数個ずつ装着されており、手術で上腕に埋め込んだ数個の電極にワイヤーを通じて電気信号を送るようになっている。 安全面での規定により電極は30日後に取り除かれたが、専門家らは、数年間にわたって使用しても問題はないと考えている。 ますます、「スターウォーズ」のルークの腕みたいになってきました。 AFPの動 ...

Airbus社、マレーシアでバイオジェット燃料の研究開発センターを地元パートナーと設立へ  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2014-2-7 0:00)

フランスAirbus社は2014年1月27日、マレーシアで持続可能なバイオジェット燃料の現地生産を促進することを目的として、バイオマスを地元で生産するソリューションを検討するため、地元の主要パートナーと研究開発拠点（Centre of Excellence）を設立する覚書（MoU）を締結したと発表した。この研究開発拠点の設立趣旨は、将来この地域で生産されるジェット燃料は持続可能なものだけに由来していることを保証するため、最も適切な原料を選択することにある。最初のアセスメントは2014年12月までに完了する予定。
