第61回日本食品科学工学会大会が中村学園大学（福岡市）で開かれ、2014年8月28日から30日までの3日間で1100人が参加した。会頭は同大学栄養科学部の太田英明教授が務めた。31日は「食と健康」と題したサテライトシンポジウム・市民フォーラムがアクロス福岡国際会議場（福岡市中央区天神）で開催された。
