2014年10月28日、和光純薬工業(大阪・中央、小畠伸三社長)はiPS細胞の維持や継代時に使用される研究用試薬「Y-27632」の全世界における製造販売の実施権を、エーピーアイ コーポレーション(東京・千代田、近藤清社長)から取得したことを発表した。Y-27632は、京都大学iPS細胞研究所(CiRA)が公表している、フィーダーフリーでのヒトiPS細胞の樹立・維持培養に関するプロトコールでも使用されている。
