皆様、こんにちは。前編集長の橋本宗明です。大変ご無沙汰しています。2年前に日経バイオテクから、日経ドラッグインフォメーションという雑誌に異動して、編集長を務めています。医薬品や再生医療などの研究開発をテーマに取材していた立場から、実際に医薬品などが使われる現場を取材する立場へと視点を変えると、“常識”が大きく異なることに驚かされます。何よりも驚いたのは、GMPに則って厳密に管理されて製造されている医薬品が、薬局の調剤室でPTPシートから取り出され、場合によっては粉砕されて他の薬と“一包化”されたり、在宅の現場では錠剤やカプセル剤をお湯に溶かす“簡易懸濁”が行われたりしていることです。こうした臨床現場での工夫を問題視する意図は毛頭ありませんし、当然、対象となる医薬品の効果などに影響がないことを検討した上で行われていると認識していますが、製造現場での規制の厳しさをさんざん取材してきて一包化や簡易懸濁の話を初めて聞いた時は愕然としました。逆に言うと、現在のGMPなどの規制に、過剰な面があるのではないかとも思います。
