Sandoz社、米国初のバイオシミラー「Zarxio」が承認  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2015-3-16 10:41)

スイスNovartis社傘下のSandoz社は2015年3月6日、米食品医薬品局(FDA) が、添付文書に記載されている適応症を対象として、「Zarxio」（filgrastim-sndz）を承認したと発表した。Zarxioは、米Amgen社の「Neupogen」（フィルグラスチム）のバイオシミラーである。バイオシミラーが米国で承認されるのは初めて。

米Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinaiと米BioRime社の子会社であるLifeMap Solutions社は、2015年3月9日、米Apple社が開発、発表したオープンソースのフレームワーク「ResearchKit」を使用する大規模な喘息研究を開始すると発表した。

米Energy Biosciences Institute（EBI）は2015年3月4日、米エネルギー省（DOE）傘下のLawrence Berkeley National Laboratory（Berkeley Lab）と米California大学Berkeley校（UC Berkeley校）と共同で、バイオマスから酵母発酵による燃料や化学品の生産を増大させる方法を見つけたと発表した。酵母に新しい代謝経路を導入することにより、環境に対して良くない前処理やコスト高の酵素カクテルを使用することなく、植物細胞壁に存在する2種類の主要糖類であるセルロースとヘミセルロースを酵母に効率的に発酵させることに成功した。
