3月に開催された日本再生医療学会総会では、「改正薬事法下における再生医療等製品の開発戦略とPMDAの果たすべき役割」と題したシンポジウムが設定された。医薬品医療機器総合機構（PMDA）の再生医療製品等審査部の4人を含めた演者が、細胞の品質管理や安全性試験、非臨床試験、臨床試験の要点について、私見としながらも明らかにした。

理化学研究所ライフサイエンス技術基盤研究センター（理研CLST）構造・合成生物学部門生命分子制御研究グループ非天然型アミノ酸技術研究チームの坂本健作チームリーダー（TL）らは、大腸菌の終止コドンの1つTAGを用いて非天然アミノ酸を導入した蛋白質を大腸菌で高効率生産する技術を2015年4月1日、Scientific Reports誌で発表した。血栓凝固を防ぐ薬剤ヒルジンでは効果を増強する硫酸化チロシン残基の導入を、抗体では化学修飾の足場となるアジドフェニルアラニン残基の導入を、効率良く行えた。筆頭著者の向井崇人氏は2014年6月に、理研CLST基礎化学特別研究員から米Yale Universityポスドク研究員に着任した。理研横山構造生物学研究室の横山茂之上席研究員も論文の共著者だ。
