『民藝』2016年8月号 で「日下部民藝館開館50周年記念特集」として紹介した、日下部民藝館の特別展が8月20日（土）より開催されます。
「柳宗悦と民藝運動の巨匠たち」展と題した特別展では、柳宗悦、バーナード・リーチ、富本憲吉、河井?次郎、濱田庄司、芹沢銈介、棟方志功、黒田辰秋ら、巨匠たちの作品が展覧されます。
「岐阜県高山市の市街地に位置する日下部民藝館は、元禄の中頃より高山を代表する商家日下部家の旧宅です。11代目当主、日下部礼一が、思想家、柳宗悦の提唱する『民藝運動』に共感し、雑誌『暮しの手帖』の初代編集長として知られる花森安治氏の勧めもあり、自邸を一部改装して『民藝館』として昭和41年に開館しました。以来50年にわたり、地域の文化・観光振興の拠点として、また民藝を世に広める施設としての役割を果たしてまいりました。2016年に開館50周年、また日下部家住宅、重要文化財指定50年を迎えるにあたり、民藝館の原点に立ち返り、暮らしの美、『民藝』を見出した柳宗悦およびその思想に共感し、自らの創作活動に活かした作家たちの作品を展覧し、開館50周年の記念展としたいと思います」（案内チラシより）
