パシフィコ横浜（横浜市西区）で開かれた第16回日本抗加齢医学会総会で2016年6月11日、シンポジウム「機能性表示食品制度施行1年を振り返って」が、定員1000人を超えるメインホールで2時間にわたり開催された。京都府立医科大学の吉川敏一学長と大阪大学大学院医学系研究科の森下竜一寄付講座教授の2人が座長を務め、消費者庁の川口康裕次長と森下仁丹の駒村純一社長、ファンケルの宮島和美社長、味の素の木村毅取締役常務執行役員、森下教授の5人が講演し、パネルディスカッションを行った。最後の30分間は、神奈川県の黒岩祐治県知事が「ヘルスケア・ニューフロンティアの取組みについて」と題する特別招聘講演を行った。
