アクテムラと我が研究人生（第5回）、免疫研究の道へ  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2016-10-11 0:00)

中外製薬の綜合研究所はJR山手線の高田馬場駅、および池袋駅から、それぞれ徒歩で10分から15分のところに位置し、学習院大学の裏側にあった。入社してすぐ、配属先の生物研究部の部長だった佐野肇さんから「何かやりたい研究があるか？」と問われて、「特にありません」、と答えた。すると「新しい学問分野だが、将来は製薬企業においても重要な研究領域になると思うから」、と免疫研究に関する興味の有無を打診された。大学で取り組んだ研究領域とは全く異なる領域であったが何の抵抗もなく、「やってみたく思います」と勧められるままに従った。大学での研究テーマを継続したいという気持ちはなかったからである。

富士フイルムは、マイコプラズマ抗原検査キット「富士ドライケム IMMUNO AG カートリッジ Myco（マイコ）」を、2016年10月3日から富士フイルムメディカルを通じて発売した。呼吸器感染症「マイコプラズマ肺炎」の原因となるマイコプラズマ抗原を高感度で検出できる。1箱10回分で価格は1万5000円（税別）。

東京大学大学院総合文化研究科広域科学専攻の佐藤守俊准教授と河野風雲特任研究員（研究当時、現在は米Columbia Universityリハビリテーション再生医療学科博士研究員）らは、微弱な光や短時間の光照射でも高効率でDNA組換え酵素Creを制御できる「PA-Cre」を開発した。Columbia Universityリハビリテーション再生医療学科・薬理学科の矢澤真幸助教授らとの共同研究成果を、米Nature Chemical Biology誌の電子版で2016年10月10日（米国東部時間）に発表した。光照射により非侵襲的にDNA組換え反応を制御する技術は先に開発されているが、これまでの技術はDNA組換えの効率が著しく低いため、マウスなどの動物個体などに応用しにくかった。佐藤准教授らが開発した光活性型“PA-Cre”は、従来に比べ10万分の1の弱い光での制御を実現した。また、光を30秒照射するだけで、マウス個体の深部にある肝臓の遺伝子の働きを制御できた。
