スウェーデンのMedivir社は2016年8月31日、同社の取締役会が同社の事業を2つの独立した会社に分離するプロセスを前進させたと発表した。同社の目的は、同社の現在のポートフォリオをベースとして新規の会社をFirst North Premiumに上場させることである。分社化の目標は、R&D portfolioを作り上げている商用化オペレーションと、製薬プロジェクトの価値を可視化することである。

生命科学業界を対象にサービスを展開する温度管理物流会社の米Cryoport社は、2016年8月29日、米KCAS Bioanalytical and Biomarker Services社(KCAS社)、米Heat Biologics社と共同で、標本や細胞を冷凍輸送する際の温度と梱包が、重要なバイオマーカーや、癌に対する細胞ワクチンに及ぼす影響を評価するために、新たな総合的なロジスティクス研究を開始したと発表した。
