科研費不採択研究にフロンティアあり  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2016-9-7 0:00)

科研費（科学研究助成金/学術研究助成基金助成金）に申請しても採択されなかった不採択申請書をデータベース(DB)に登録、一定のルールに従って企業が閲覧し、産学連携を推進するシステムL-RAD（https://l-rad.net/）に参加した研究者の数が、9月1日までに502人（200大学・研究機関）に達した。L-RADを開発、運営するベンチャー企業のリバネス（東京・新宿）が明らかにした。

2016年9月5日、国立がん研究センター研究所国際会議場で開催された第14回医療機器フォーラムの会場でこのメールを書いています。今回のテーマは「がん診断の最前線--診断装置・技術、人工知能等の開発・上市--」でした。蓋を開けてみると線虫による癌の診断からワトソンによる癌診療の高度化、さらには厚生労働省や医薬品医療機器総合機構（PMDA）の規制環境に関する発表などてんこ盛りで、頭の中が分裂気味です。医薬品医療機器等法の壁は高いですが、間違いなく次世代シーケンサーの認可は目前に迫っており、また島津製作所の発表などで質量分析器の医療応用も急速に進みつつあります。この結果、医療の現場では膨大なマルチオミックスデータや膨大な医療情報に立ち往生する可能性が濃厚になってきました。実際、IBMの関係者によれば、癌だけでも毎年20万件もの新しい論文が発表されると指摘していますが、医師の81％は年に60時間しか新規論文を読む時間が無いという極めて危機的な状況にさらされています。1時間に3500編の専門論文を読む能力をヒトは備えておりません。こうした状況に人工知能は一体本当に貢献できるのか?　むくむくと疑問がわいて参りました。 　こ ...

日本ゲノム編集学会（会長：山本卓・広島大学大学院理学研究科教授）は、2016年9月6日から7日に広島国際会議場（広島市）で第1回大会を開催するに当たり、開幕前日の9月5日夕方に広島で記者会見を行い、10数人の報道関係者が参加した。山本会長は、学会設立の狙いや第1回大会の注目発表を紹介し、2016年4月のに賛同することも表明した。質疑応答では、朝日新聞、NHK、中国新聞、読売新聞、日経BP、日本経済新聞の記者が質問を行った。第2回大会は2017年6月28日から30日に千里ライフサイエンスセンターで開催される。第2回の大会長は、学会副会長の大阪大学大学院医学系研究科の真下知士准教授が務める。
