タカラバイオは2016年8月8日、カナダ保健省よりsiTCR遺伝子治療のフェーズIb実施について無意義証明書を受領したことを受け、カナダPrincess Margaret Cancer Centreで癌抗原NY-ESO-1を発現する固形癌患者を対象に開始すると発表した。

米Bristol-Myers Squibb（BMS）社は2016年8月5日、進行期非小細胞肺癌（NSCLC）患者を対象とする「オプジーボ」（ニボルマブ）の国際共同フェーズIII試験（CheckMate-026、NCT02041533）で、主要評価項目である無増悪生存（PFS）の優位性を示すことができなかったと発表した。完全データは今後の適切な学術会議で報告される。
