協和発酵キリンは2016年9月20日、線維芽細胞増殖因子23（FGF23）を認識する完全ヒト抗体KRN23のフェーズII中間解析で有効性を確認したと発表した。小児・成人のX染色体遺伝性低リン血症（XLH）患者、および成人の腫瘍性骨軟化症（TIO）または表皮母斑症候群（ENS）患者を対象とする試験で、いずれも米Ultragenyx Pharmaceuticals社との協業・ライセンス契約に基づき米国で実施されており、2016年9月16日から19日に米国アトランタで開催された米国骨代謝学会（ASBMR）で報告された。
