日本製薬工業協会（製薬協）は、2017年1月17日、定例記者会見を開催。製薬協の畑中好彦会長が、薬価の毎年改定などについては慎重な議論が必要との認識を示した。また、製薬協が日本医療研究開発機構（AMED）との連携を強化し、バイオバンクの整備やバイオマーカーの探索などに取り組む考えを説明した。
