NEI、ヒト骨髄MSC由来エクソソームがラットの網膜神経節細胞を保護  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2017-2-3 0:00)

幹細胞由来のエクソソームの投与が、幹細胞を用いた再生医療の代替となる可能性が示された。米国立衛生研究所（NIH）の一部門である国立眼研究所（NEI）のBen Mead氏らは、ラット外傷性視神経症モデルなどを用いた研究で、ヒト骨髄間葉系幹細胞(BMSC)が分泌するエクソソームが網膜神経節細胞（RGC）を保護すること、活性成分はエクソソームに含まれるマイクロRNAであることを示した。詳細は、Stem Cells Translational Medicine誌電子版に2017年1月26日に報告された。

北海道大学創成研究機構の小笠原慎治特任助教は、遺伝子の発現を可逆的にON/OFFできる光遺伝子操作技術を開発し、米化学会のACS Chemical Biology誌で2017年1月4日に論文発表した。遺伝子発現の転写過程（DNAをmRNAに転写する過程）ではなく、翻訳過程（mRNAの塩基配列情報を基にアミノ酸を連結して蛋白質を合成する過程）に着目することにより、分単位の迅速なON/OFFを可能にした。
